Cable Boy are a five-piece band from Dublin. They’re made up of Semilore Olusa (Frontman & Guitarist), Liam Murray (Bass & Backing Vocals), Corneille, Tshibasu (Synth & Backing Vocals), Jason Aikhionbare (Guitarist), and Fionn Maguire O’Loughlin (Drummer).
Formed by school friends Semilore Olusa and Liam Murray, the band released their debut album back in April. Let’s check out a couple of tracks from it:
Something In My Head
Racing indie-psyche guitars and SFA-esque production lay an escapist platform for Olusa to deliver his solo-era Noel Gallagher vocal.
Twisting from pop to psyche, they launch a layered adventure that suggests peak creative powers rather than tentative fledglings are at play.
Icarus
A gothic, Cure-esque tinge filters through the guitars, making them sound like Bloc Party on a bad comedown.
A forlorn sense of isolation oozes through this record. Laconic, drifting, but never not captivating.
